2012 Colac Agricultural Show

The 2012 Colac Agricultural Show takes place on November 2nd to the 4th and promises to be the biggest ever. This year there is a huge line-up of fun for the whole family to enjoy.

The best of the Western District will be on show with some of the most magnificent animals, cattle, horses, sheep, goats and poultry. The young will love the animal nursery while on the main arena there is a full program of entertainment, with many horse events including show jumping, pony club and Clydesdale and harness displays.

The show actually kicks off on the Thursday afternoon with the all breeds heifer show taking place before the main activities start on the Friday.

Other highlights will include demonstrations by the CFA, Highland dancing, handcrafts and many interesting machinery displays and trade stands.

Kids will love the huge side show alley with plenty of thrill rides, side show attraction and of course showbags.  The young will also love the Pet Parade that will be held on the Sunday of the show. There are twenty four sections to this completion from the “Pet with the most Waggiest Tail” to “The Pet with the Most Shiniest Nose”.  The completion is open to all types of animals whose owners are under 16 years of age. Sunday will also see the working dog trials and dogs high jump on the Main Arena.

The Colac Show always has an impressive turnout in the home craft exhibitions, there will be some beautiful crafts including knitting, crocheting and other creative arts. Cooking, photography and the horticulture displays will feature home produce and some beautiful flowers and other plants.

The nights sky will be lit up with a blaze of spectacular colour on Saturday night from 9:00 PM when one of the most spectacular fireworks displays Colac has ever sees takes place over the showgrounds topping off another great day at the show.
