What’s happening in September
Well the Cat’s didn’t survive first week of the AFL Finals, being defeated by the Dockers, so Geelong fans now have 2013 to look forward to.
Sunday the 16th will see the Kev’s Caravan Reunion at the St Albans Football Club in East Geelong. This will be a great day for many to catch up with old friends and remember the good old days. A Hot Rod Show and Shine is also on the 16th at Hamyln Banks Primary School in Hamyln Heights. The Show and Shine runs from 9am until 2pm with entry via a gold coin donation.
There are some great acts touring Geelong this month including Shannon Noll, who will be playing the Gateway Hotel on the 13th, Xavier Rudd playing Costa Hall on the 16th and the Kite Machine playing the Barwon Club on the 27th See our gig guide for more info
The Woodbin Theatre is performing Our Town in the second week of the month, Roy Orbison and Jonny Cash are featured in two shows at GPAC, The Vienna Boys Choir are in town on the 27th and the classic fairytale Sleeping Beauty is perfumed in the Playhouse at GPAC on the 21st and 22nd. With the winter behind us and the weather finally improving many of the markets are starting up again. Highlights include the Geelong Central Farmers Market on the second Saturday, Drysdale Market on the third Sunday and the Newtown Farmers Market on the last Saturday of the month.
Cyclists will be out for the Amy Gillett Grand Fondo in the beautiful Otways on the 16th of September and in Colac on the 21st the Showground will host the 21st Annual St Mary’s School lifestyle Expo. Keep an eye on our events calendar for more great things on in September.
