Horizon House Fishing Competition 2008

Saturday the 16th of February fishermen and women will be out in force to support the St John of God Foundation's Horizon House which is a very important program which provides long term accommodation and support to homeless youth in the Geelong region.

The fishing competition promises to be huge, with everywhere within a 50km radius of Corio Bay being part of the competition. That includes everywhere there's water and fish, including the bays the open ocean, lakes and rivers. You can fish from a boat, a pier, the bank or beach- take your pick.

Entry is only $20 for Adults and $5 for Juniors (under 16) and as well as a great day out fishing there are some pretty good prizes to win too.

Some of the classes include

Heaviest snapper – land or boat
Heaviest whiting – land or boat
Heaviest flathead – land or boat
Heaviest freshwater carp – land or boat
Heaviest freshwater trout– land or boat
Heaviest freshwater redfin – land or boat
Secret weights—any Victorian legal fish species
Junior prizes (under 16 years)
Heaviest snapper – land or boat
Heaviest whiting – land or boat
Heaviest flathead – land or boat
Heaviest freshwater carp – land or boat
Heaviest freshwater trout– land or boat
Heaviest freshwater redfin – land or boat
Secret weights—any Victorian legal fish species

All entries go into the draw for spot prizes
and secret weights.

Please remember all Victorian fishing regulations apply – including bag limits and sizes.

No sharks and rays are to be taken and as our waters are an important part of our environment only take what you need.

Weigh-in between 8am - 3.30pm at the Eastern Park bbq area all Fish to be gutted & gilled prior to weighing.
