Historic Events - Ford's 100th
Anniversary - June 2003
June 2003 marked 100 years since Henry
Ford started the Ford Motor Company in Dearborn in the
United States.
To celebrate the 100 year
milestone Ford around the world held special functions.
In the USA thousands of people and vehicles flocked to the
company's head office in Dearborn, Michigan in a series of
rallies and special events to celebrate.
Australia also played its part with a free for all party at
the
Ford Discovery Centre in Geelong.

celebrate the Ford's 100 years
The
Ford Discovery Centre is on of
Geelong's favorite attractions, with educational fun
for the whole family.
The Ford Discovery Centre stands opposite the site where Ford
set up its first operations in Australia way back in 1925.
Ford Australia president, Geoff Polities and a host of current
and past Ford racing legends helped celebrate with the
thousands of one eye Ford fans who showed up.
Added to the celebrations was the recognition that Ford
Australia's Falcon was voted as one of Ford World's 25 most
significant vehicles.
As a highlight to the day, a prototype Territory vehicle
(some 12 months away from production) was on show to the
visitors.
