Australian Street Rod Nationals 2003

The Australian Street Rod Nationals were  held at Geelong Showgrounds over the Easter weekend in 2003. Over 1200 vehicles turned up and the great Easter weather brought thousands of visitors to see these colourful machines.

It was the second time Geelong has played host to the Nationals, it also was held here in 1999, where over 1000 vehicles turned up.

Vehicles came from all corners of the country and even from overseas- many vehicles came from New Zealand and a '48 Caddie which had a 50+ hour flight from the USA.

  DID YOU KNOW?

There is a huge Hot Rod spectacular held in Queenscliff late January each year, hosted by the Geelong Street Rodders

As well as a showcase of some of the most amazing vehicles there was plenty of family entertainment with blues, rock 'n' roll bands  and kids fun.

A 1000 seat grandstand where visitors could watch drags and burnouts proved to be a crowd favorite.

The noise and smell of burning rubber was an experience in its self.

In 2004 the Australian Street Rod Nationals will be held in Surfers Paradise.
