Wallington Strawberry Fair

The Strawberry Fair takes place each year in the delightful rolling hills of Wallington, located on the Bellarine Peninsula just off the road Wallington—Ocean Grove Road It is an area rich with fruit producers including strawberry fields and apple orchards.
The strawberry industry in Wallington itself dates back over 130 years. In 1881 when the Wallington Hotel was offered for sale, it was noted that “several acres of strawberries of assorted varieties as well as 3000 fruit trees were included in the sale.”
Plates of strawberries and cream for sixpence a plate were served at the hotel in 1884. These strawberries were the produce of 5 acres of red and white strawberries grown at the hotel.
