Anglesea is located about 37 kilometres south west of central Geelong along the Surf Coast Highway which becomes the Great Ocean Road and takes about half an hour by road. The township is divided by the Anglesea River with most of the residents living on the hills of the south west side towards Point Roadnight, while the main retail village is on the north east side of the river just north of the highway which snakes through town.
