Lara is a quaint township situated on
the outskirts of Geelong on the way to Melbourne, It has
attracted much development in the last few years as new
residents discover the convenience of living a country
lifestyle near the city.
While Little River is possibly one of the smallest of
townships around the Geelong area it probably has one of the
most famous names of any Victorian city, when it was adopted
as the name of a popular band in the early seventies. The
towns fame has not have affected the towns country village
style and it a great place to stop by on you way to explore
the You Yangs.

Earth Sanctuary was also one of the major filming sites for
the 2003 Motion Picture "Ned Kelly" staring Heath Ledger
and in 2007/8 it is being used for the Stephen Speilberg .

new budget domestic carrier. Around 100 flights a week leave
Avalon for destinations such as Sydney and Brisbane, Adelaide
and Perth. Avalon
