About Wallington


In the heartland of the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula surrounded by rolling hills and Lake Connewarre to the south west is the rural community of Wallington. Home to many of the regions apple orchards and famous for its delicious strawberries and the annual Wallington Strawberry Fair which is held in March attracting thousands of families. Many of the strawberry farms give visitors the opportunity to pick their own juicy produce and there are always some good road side stalls selling different types of produce.

Wallington is home to some of the regions premier garden nurseries and wine making has also become very successful over the past few years with several quality small vineyards operating including McLashans, Oakdene, Ponda Estate and Wayawu Estate to name a few.

Animals are also farmed in around Wallington, cattle, and sheep and quite a few boutique animals like angora goats and llamas. The town also has a large deer farm, and quite a few equestrian facilities.

Being located virtually in the middle of the Bellarine Peninsula and in very easy reach of Geelong and the full peninsula. Wallington has some of the best family attractions in the region with a huge maze complex, mini golf and Adventure Park, Victoria’s biggest theme park with dozens of water based rides.

The area offers many choices in holiday accommodation with quaint bed and breakfasts and farm stays very popular. Wallington is a good alternative for people wanting to spend their holidays at Ocean Grove or Barwon Heads. Here you are away from the hustle and bustle of the seaside towns but only 5 to 10 minutes away from their townships and beaches.

The friendly little community has a small centre with the major facility being Wallington Reserve not far from the school, it is home to the Wallington Cricket Club, the Bellarine Bears Baseball Club and a tennis club.
