Yes it’s or 20th anniversary and we are in a transition to bring you a brand new Intown that will give you more up to date information, be more mobile friendly and deliver you everything you need to know about Geelong, the region and what’s going on.
Intown began back in 1998, when the internet was pretty new, It was pretty basic, slow dial up screeching modems, virtually no multimedia and staples like eBay and Google were in their infancy. Things we take for granted today like globally connected high speed connections, mobile phones, streaming and social media were unimaginable and years away.
In our 20 years we been to hundreds of event throughout the region and have taken tens of thousand of photographs not only of the events but of our city as it has transformed and prospered, from a worn out dull industrial centre to one of the most vibrant and thriving cities in Australia.
As intown begins our 21st year we have not only a new look but a new vigor and over the next few months you will see a more vibrant, up to date and exciting experience when visiting our site.
Over the coming weeks we will be producing a special free commemorative ebook and a series of special features taking a look back at our first 20 years, reminiscing on some of the highlights we have experienced over the first part of our journey.
