A huge crowd turned out on the Bellarine Peninsula’s premier bay-side township of Portarlington on the 14th of January for the 2012 Portarlington Mussel Festival. Not only were there plenty of opportunities to taste the freshest mussels there was a huge selection of other food vendors with a multitude of culinary options. Dozens of market stalled lined the pathways and the children’s area was a huge hit with petting zoo and plenty of fun for the young. The festival featured some great entertainment both roaming and on the stage overlooked by hundreds enjoying the music relaxing on the grass. Legendary Australian performer Mike Brady put in a wonderful performance and thrilled the crowd with his classic footy anthem ‘Up there Cazaly’.
