Some tasty treats here…shame just had lunch. -although I don’t think that would stop many of the people here. the food is so big..sandwiches have 20 slices of meat in them and everything comes with the biggest serve of fries or onion rings. then it’s donut time they are twice the size of ours -no joke.

Yards brewery

A few tasty beers at the Yards Brewery for lunch and a bison sausage sandwich with chili and onion (see my Facebook pic) it was pretty tasty even though looked revolting. most of the beers brewed here are based on recipes dating back to the civil war and declaration of independence, so they were a bit different to the normal. Very yummy.

We are getting ripped

I’ve seen petrol as low as $3.35 but at this price I make it just under 90 cents a litre. Beer, food clothes and just about everything else is much cheaper than us.

We the people… Blah blah blah blah!

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

If only it was true… Anyway the guys who wrote this did it in this place and formed the first US government here over a few beers.

Philly Macy’s

This is flash, and one of the city’s tourist attractions. The Philadelphia Macy’s would have to take the cake for the most beautiful department store… It is amazing, so are the prices shoes and clothes a fraction of what we pay back home.  For exaple Levi 501 are under $40, nike from $25 is crazy.   As special guests in New York  they gave us a 10% discount card too- which will make things even cheaper.

The buiding was built for the Wanamaker Department Store and opened in 1911 and boasts being the first department store in the US lit with electricity and the first with a refund policy. Unfortunatley because of renovations you can not see the amazing organ behind the curtain it is the worlds biggest instrument and has 28500 pipes- no joke.   On the bottom photo you can just make out the 2500 lb eagle in the centre- another impressive item- the detail is amazing, it is meant to have over 16000 feathers on its head alone.

Thomas Jeffersons beer

This beer was brewed using Thomas Jefferson (one of the us’s founding fathers) 1774 recipe. We had it the oldest pub in Philidelphia.the place was very original looking and all the staff were wearing ye olde costumes.

The streets of philidelphia

Arrived in Phili a few hours ago for a two nighter, and it looks like a pretty good place. Lots of E-merican history being the birthplace of the nation, so heaps of red white and blue. We are staying in the old town which is close to all the things to see and it looks like plenty of nightlife..do will be buying some beers from the wells shortly.

And meet me tonight in atlantic city

Was really expecting this place to be a mix between coney island and Reno..but it’s not bad. There’s plenty of fin to be had here and there’s a bit of quality not just low end crass casinos, the casinos may not be Vegas standards but they are pretty good, with good amenities and cheap food and drink. We staying at on of Trumps hotels..he seems to own half the city (just like new York) really good room. Not that we will see to much of it as only a one nighter.
