A few new beers

We are on holidays so we need to try the local beverages, so we head down to the supermarket to buy a bounty of goodies. We come back with a cold Filtered Anchor, a few Carlsberg Special Brews, Skol and even a very cheerful Jolly Shandy that was a very sweet lemonade and beer. Won’t be racing back for more of them. The European brands are pretty big over here, but there are some great Asian brands like Tiger and Anchor that appear to be big also.

Hotel pretty good

We caught the airport bus to the city and then jumped on the monorail to find our hotel. Its in a real good location and its pretty luxurious and even clean, with no hotel room smells. The shower has incredible pressure, strange for a hotel, and the view of the city skyline from the huge windows is spectacular.

You sometimes get what you pay for

Its a beautiful brand new plane, but this certainly isn’t the way to fly. Now there’s first class, business class, economy, then then there’s this, I’m really not sure what this is, battery chicken class? The seats are narrow, they don’t recline and the seat in front of me is only millimeters away. No complementary champagne, no luxury toiletries, no leg room, Its going to be a long, very long 9 hours to KL, but what do you expect for $99.

It was uncomfortable but tolerable, and now we are in hot and steamy KL. The humidity is a killer, we are sweating like pigs but we are on holidays for a few days who cares.

AirAsia-X

We find our hotel, great room and air conditioner works, the shower even works and the water pressure is amazingly strong. The view is spectacular with a huge window looking out over the incredible KL skyline. We soon get over our flight and its time to explore this tropical wonderland.
