//Kyoto was a little over half an hours train ride from Osaka and home to some of the country’s most important temples we visit a few on or look around the city.
//The Dotonbori precinct of Osaka is one of the best places to enjoy at night. The narrow streets are lined with neon, mechanical crabs, giant octopus, great food and thousands of people.
//Osaka’s Americkamura district is a youth fashion district with a heavy emphasis on all things American. There are vintage clothing stores – basically an American sourced op shop and plenty of Japanese made US like t-shirts and stuff many with really bad English E-merican slogans.
//Many of the smaller lanes have been closed off and given a roof becoming huge shopping streets. Some can reach over a kilometre long and they feature restaurants, shops and interesting stalls. This one had a market and featured plenty of tasty treats including the poisonous fugu fish, giant crab legs which would have been 2 foot long and delicious baby octopus on sticks- yummy.
//around every corner there is something funny to laugh about, it could be a weird character, funny sign or even a Hello Kitty automated toilet seat.
//Well, if my memory serves me correctly.. This market sells everything for the kitchen and restaurant.
//Several of the big seafood restaraunts have these huge mechanical crabs.
//The Fugu is a puffer fish and one of the special delecacies of Osaka, only problem is it is poisonous. If you eat the wrong bit you are dead in less than a minute. Special chefs need to cut the fish up before it can be served.
//Heres a novel restaurant, jump on board a boat that is floating in a pool, put out a line catch a fish and then have it cooked up. There are different prices depending on which fish you catch and they cook them up in a number of ways. If you want to get fancy you can even fish in the lobster pond.
//Tsutenkaka is one of the popular entertainment districts with plenty of bars, cafes and attractions including the tower that was $7 that would have been better spent of beer or things on sticks.
//We visited one of the new huge shopping complexes that featured a lookout over the city. The tower was about 50 floors and there was an hour long (or more) line to get to the top, so we turned left and got a free lookout just a few floors below.
//After turning of one of the long shopping malls we came across the Temmangu Shrine and decided to take a look
