//Highlight of the day a roadside stop called Uranus, they really played the joke to its extremes with the big old cashier nearly chocking over her ventalator cracking lines to customers like “how are you enjoying ur..anus” or “do you think Ur anus is clean” “Thankyou for picking Ur Anus” and so on… it never gets tired.

//Next Stop along Route 66 is Springfield a pretty vibrant college own with plenty of night time action. We hit the Springfield Brewery for a refreshment or two…no Duff here.
//Below is our Rent a car an Infinity Q50. It’s kind of a Nissan but with more cow and extra goodies.
//Charlie’s Chicken in Miami Oklahoma claims to be the inventor of chicken chunks which are pretty much a chicken nugget of real meat so we had to drop by and give them a go. They sure were tasty washed down with mac and cheese and some gravy mashed spud.
//The blue whale of Catoosa about an hour out of Tulsa along route 66 was the best thing we saw today. Built in the 70’s hes one of the most known attractions on the road.
//There are plenty of good places for a beer in Tulsa including some good breweries, we give a new one called Welltown a go and try out there very tasty range of beers before hitting the main entertainment area for a few more refreshments at some of the cool dive bars.
//There must be more churches per square metre than anywhere else in the world, the city is full of huge churches and on the outskirts every small village has several. The city is a pretty quiet place there are plenty of tall skyscrapers but the general city area isnt much different than Geelong. Like everywhere else we have seen on this trip there a lot of work rebuilding the inner suburbs turning old warehouses into new retail, entertainment and apartments, that will help add a bit of vitality to the fairly dull city.
//We started our roadtrip up to Chicago but before we left Texas we had to stop by the Cackle and Oink BBQ for lunch.. Pork butts were on the menu but we settled for brisket and sausages.. tasty!
//we spent the rest of day cruising around the Deep Ellum area dropping into a few establishments to relieve ourselves from the 40 degrees heat outside.
//We continued our free bus ride around the city outskirts and came across Brain Dead Brewery so we thought it would be rude not to pop in and see what was on offer
//A new farmers market has sprung up with a heap of cool stalls and a huge nursery.
