Cork

Really lovely and rejuvenated centre. all the shops are a clever mix of the old, very old and a tasteful scattering of new. The city and area feels about Geelong size but city is quality no mall rats or crappy or empty shops. It is amazing how many pubs and cafes there are, there would be 20 pubs within 150 meters of our hotel.

Just Beamish

Up early and a train trip to Gatwick, then a quick one hour flight and we are in Cork Ireland. Never seen so many pubs, I want to stay….Beamish is the local drop and a tasty one indeed. Dark and creamy it is delicious…and so cheap we are looking at under $4 a pint and that’s without the happy hour (4pm-9pm)

Cork’s English Market

This is one of the bigger tourist attractions in town and a nice market. There’s some interesting things in the meat section, didn’t know there were so man ‘good’ bits on a pig.

Black pudding and tripe are specialties here, Gary gave the black pudding a go, was ok but probably won’t have it tomorrow at the breakfast buffet…. he may order the kippers.

Old spitifields market

Here are some sights around the old spitter fields market in the east end. The stalls sell some interesting stuf, a lot of young designers have stalls and try and make a name for them selves. Love the goat.

St Paul’s

This place is massive, unfortunately I couldn’t take any pictures of the incredible insides, the god forbids it, but you can pay a premium price for a postcard…the money probably goes to an orphanage.

Some more London

It’s a bit damp here today but that won’t stop the adventure, just wish I had a jumper.
