The highlight of Gala Day is the huge parade that kicks off at 11:00 AM and snakes down Malop Street from Eastern Park. Thousands are expected to line the streets and be enchanted by the colour, music and magic as it makes its way to the corner of Morrabool and Brougham Streets outside the National Wool Museum.

The 2014 parade will feature plenty of famous characters and personalities including the first visit of Santa and Mrs Claus to Geelong for the festive season. The theme for this year’s parade will be Christmas and Children’s Fun and Fantasies so expect to see a great range of colourful floats and displays celebrating the spirit of the two wonderful themes. There will be marching bands, dancers, mascots, special vehicles, community groups and local businesses all coming together to make the parade a fantastic fun and vibrant event.

After the parade the fun continues on Steampacket Gardens when the precinct is transformed into a huge family day. There will be guest appearances as well as a number of shows featuring range of special guests that the kids will just love.  Expect jumping castles, petting farms, rides and plenty of tasty food.
