Birregurra Festival and Art Show
The beautiful rural township of Birregurra holds their annual Festival and art show in what is an event that takes over the whole town. The festival this year should be bigger than ever with markets, dog jumping, wood chopping, and activities for the family. There will also be some incredible entertainment, this year Dave Steel and Tiffany Eckhart will perform as well as ‘The Voice’s’ Imogen Brough, Melbourne Based The Pierce Brothers, and the Elvis inspired King Seven and the Hound Dogs. Food is also a highlight of the festival and some of the local breweries and wineries will also be on hand for refreshments. Birregurra is easily reached from the Colac – Geelong Road, and is around an hours drive from central Geelong.

Julia Gillard – My Story
Former Prime Minister of Australia Julia Gillard will be in Geelong for a special evening promoting her new book My Story. The evening will be held at Costa Hall at Deakin University on Geelong’s Waterfront. This is a chance to listen to one of the most interesting and controversial leader Australia has ever seen, and hear firsthand a little of the stories that made headlines during the turbulent years leading up to and during her leadership. One of the biggest bands of the last forty years, Queen will be celebrated in an amazing show at GPAC’s Playhouse Theatre when Queen- It’s a kinda magic! comes to Geelong. JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes
JDRF are holding walks all around Australia to raise funds and awareness of juvenile diabetes and Geelong is joining in the action hosting a walk on the 12th of October at Rippleside Park.
