2015 Festival of Glass

The Festival of Glass Expo is one of the Geelong region’s more unique festivals and returns for 2014 on Sunday the 15th of March. At Drysdale’s Christian College in Drysdale on the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula.

2015 will see the fifth year of the festival that showcases glass through art, craft and industry. The festival features a wide range of activities and some brilliant displays of glass art.

One of the highlights will be the Glass Expo will be glass blowing by artist Pauline Delaney. Pauline will be running sessions where people can join a class and make glass beads by blending different colour glass and manipulating them into intricate beads.
Members of the Bellarine Historical Society are planning a wonderful display showcasing old glass including the very rare Clifton Springs torpedo bottles that were used to package mineral water decades ago.
This years expo will feature dozens of exhibition spaces and market stalls that will host a wide range of glass jewellery, beads, household items, artworks, lamps and supplies for glass crafts people. There will be some truly amazing and beautiful items both for sale and on display and it is a wonderful place to meet some of the artists and vendors and learn about their craft.

The Festival of Glass will also feature plenty of workshops over the weekend including teaching skills on glass fusing, making items from beads and special lampwork lessons. Visit the official Festival of Glass Website for times, bookings and costs at www.festivalofglass.net.au
