The February 25th will see Geelong’s favorite event the Pako Festa return to Pakington Street West Geelong for 2017 in what promises to be the biggest and best festa since it began back in 1983.

Over 100,000 people are expected to attend this years event all all out to celebrate a day of multiculturalism, great food, dance and fun.

The day kicks off at 11:00 AM with one of Australia’s most vibrant and exciting parades. Here dozens of community groups representing local organisations and all the corners of the world parade down Pakington Street. The sights and sounds are incredible with colourful national dress, fancy floats, exotic sounds and an amazing atmosphere.

After the parade thousands flock to the West Park for the opening ceremony which includes a welcoming from the Wathaurong People and official opening from a few special VIPS. After the formalities are over its party time, food, music, fun and more fun. The whole of Pakington Street, its parks and lanes transform into a huge street festival. You will find dozens of market stalls, an one of the biggest selections of international street food, from just about every place on earth, the aromas are so inviting.

Stages come to life with dozens of community groups putting on national dance performances. Many kick back with a refreshment and some great food for hours enjoying the incredible entertainment.

Pako Festa is one of Australia’s biggest and best multicultural events and should not be missed, its a fantastic day out.
