Australia Day at Rippleside

Organised by the Lion’s Club of Corio Bay Geelong Australia Day Committee the day usually attracts thousands of families from around the region for a great day and celebration of what makes Australia so special and unique.

This year the event kicks off at 11:00 AM Australia Day and will feature plenty of rides including the giant slide, jumping castles, train rides and even pony rides. There will be heaps of fun for the young with animal farms, face painting and even a sheep shearing exhibition.

1:00 PM will see some formal Australia Day ceremonies including the Geelong Town Crier, an Australia Day Address and the traditional flag raising and singing of our National Anthem with music from the Geelong Memorial Brass Band.

Kids will love some of the entertainment including crowd favourite Dame Edna Average, the Glitter Monkey’s and Geelong’s own Dazzling Dan the Magic Man just to name a few.
There will be plenty of static displays including fire engines, some historic vehicles from International Harvester and even a Victorian Police display.

The best thing about this event is it’s free and there is always plenty of parking so make the Australia Day Children’s Free Day at Geelong top of your list for fun this Australia Day!
